If you are unvaccinated, sign up as a blood donor. If your vaccinated, sign up as a blood recipient.
Search for compatible donors with the same blood type and reach out to them via email, text, or phone to coordinate even if you don't have an upcoming medical procedure - be prepared.
For planned medical procedures, arrange for the donor to visit a hospital for a brief screening process, which includes an 8-minute questionnaire. If the donor is approved, they will donate a few pints of blood to be reserved for your surgery, to be used only if needed.
Test the donor’s blood for mRNA spike protein antibodies and excess foreign DNA using on-demand COVID antibody and foreign DNA tests to ensure safety. See FAQ section for more information. Even if a donor is listed as unvaccinated, it’s best to verify their status through testing.
If the donor’s blood tests negative for mRNA spike protein antibodies and excess foreign DNA, and you approve of its use, the donated pints will be used only if necessary.
